I read about a gene that may hold the key to muscle repair after injury. Someone with a muscle deficiency is good through childhood because of the mass production of muscle cell. When elderly the use for muscles is lessened and therefore less muscle cells are made. So, after bed rest from a health problem most elderly people find it very difficult to regain strength. In some elders cases muscle cell production becomes inactive.
I think this is a great discovery. If this is the gene that helps produce muscle cells elders will be more...'mobile' if u will. On the other hand maybe old people should have less muscle to give them that wise and respectful look, I don't know. And possibly this gene might not even be the right one. This concludes my article. Thanks for reading :)
