Do you have cat allergies? Well, your problems could soon be over as a team of immunologist at the University’s School of Molecular Medical Science has discovered the cell component that causes this reaction. This team is lead by Drs Ghaem-Maghami and Martinez-Pomares. They believe this development to be extremely good, with all the recent asthma attacks in the last few decades they can use all the help they can get in the UK. Recent statistics show that at least three people die every day from an asthma attack over there. When a person has asthma their symptoms worsen as they are exposed to airborne allergens that can come from places like cat dander, dust mites, and pollen. At least 40% of children are allergic to cats, or rather their dander. With their worsening attacks the doctors are ecstatic that they have found this cell component. Along with this information they can continue research to create better products and solutions that can eventually help cure asthma once and for all.
In my opinion I believe this to be a big burden that has just been wiped off the back of humanity. My brother has a minor case of asthma and it is a relief to see that this little problem can be washed away. It is very sad to hear that all these kids in the UK are dying because of this. Some even say that it has reached epidemic proportions in a lot of industrialized countries.
