Research now shows that eating more vegies will give your skin a more healthy glow than the sun will ever do. This study was led by Dr Ian Stephen, from the School of Psychology, University of Nottingham. Dr lan Stephen said "Most people think the best way to improve skin colour is to get a suntan, but our research shows that eating lots of fruit and vegetables is actually more effective." In this study that they did they found that when people eat more portions of fruit and vegetables everyday they have more of a golden skin tone then those who just lay out in the sun. The reason for this is because of carotenoids. Caritenoids are antioxidants that absorb damaged compounds due to stress and other things. Caritenoids are very important to our immune and reproductive system. At the end of this study people preferred the caritenoid skin tone rather then the suntan skin tone.
I think this was an interesting study. I believe that everyone thinks that when you lay out in the sun you get the best glow in your skin then anything else. I also don't agree with this study all that much because i eat really healthy and eat all these fruits and vegetables but i don't have any glow to my skin. I think that this research is different with everyones skin color, because not everyones skin color works the same. I do agree with this study at the same time too because fruits and vegetables with all the antioxidants is really good for your skin. It does make your skin look really healthy and it cleans all your pores out. I think this was an interesting current event! I would love to learn more about it.
