Exercise Helps Overweight Children Think Better, Do Better in Math

Researchers from the Georgia Health Sciences University reported on February 10, 2011 of a new study targeting sedentary students in America. They were trying to prove how regular exercise truly does have an effect on the way the brain works. Overweight students who previously were inactive until the study began had major changes in their lives. The scientists found that exercise on a normal basis improves the ability to think, plan, and do math. The scientists hope their findings will "reestablish" a healthy foundation for students and encourage healthy lifestyles.

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is so important. It not only provides better physical conditions, but boosts one's confidence as well. I think a lot of kids are simply turned off to being more healthy at a younger age, so it is good that the study was preformed to once again encourage the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. In the girls' locker room, there is a banner displaying a quote describing how physical fitness is the basis of all other types of success. This article is proof that the quote remains true. Exercising makes you feel better and you're able to think better; it's that simple. The importance of physical activity and leading a lifestyle with healthy intentions should be taught at a younger age.
