The impact of climate change has reached many populations of fish living in the Indian Ocean. About a third of coral reef fish species are in danger of local extinction due to the climate change on coral reefs. The predictive method used to gather this information not only show these results, but others as well. It also gives managers of the coral reef a better insight on what to do to help protect these reefs. They hope to improve on coral recovery and better conservation between storms and bleaching events. It has become a matter that needs to be taken care of.
I have always been a big fan of anything marine-related. It saddens me to hear about the increased chances of extinction in waters around the globe. Each ocean, sea, lake, or any other body of water offers a unique habitat for marine species. With climate change comes many consequences. This is an event that is not only taking place in the Indian Ocean either. It proves to be another reason why we as humans need to reduce our use of harmful chemicals and any other factors contributing to the climate change.
