Babies come from Humans; Flowers come from....?

http://www.biologynews.net/archives/2011/02/07/where_did_flowers_come_from.html

We know where babies come from. Now the age old question has taken on a new form: Where do FLOWERS come from? Current flowers are believed to be descendants of the Amborella, which is a direct descendant of the first flowering plants. Victor Albert said that 'Amborella is a molecular living fossil '. Amborella has contracted the nickname The Platypus of Flowering Plants. This nickname comes from the belief that they can trace the line of heritage through the plants DNA, just as they did with the platypus. Specifically, they are comparing the genetic make-up of Amborella to that of newer species. A team of very knowledgeable biologist plan to complete and publish a draft sequence of the Amborella genome by this year.

I think this is wonderful. our science is evolving so much that we can trace a plant just like an animal. i am looking forward to the result of their study. To find out what the mother of all plants is would be thrilling. It would be like discovering a real live T-Rex. RAWR! =)
