Sea Turtle Hatchlings

Agustin Gonzalez
Article:

This weeks article is going to be about Sea Turtles and their short period of life that they have in trying to get from where they hatched, to the Sea. Just from traveling to where they hatched from the Sea, 30% of them are already eaten by predators! When the little turtles think they are finally safe, they encounter many more dangers when they get to the water. After that, many more of them unfortunanlty perish in the water. However a Marine Biologist put some recently hatched turtles in a large aquarium to see how long they would keep swiming for safety until they took breaks. he found out that after 12 hours of non-stop swimming, they took occasional breaks but kept going until 18 hours of swimming.
Opinion:
Well, I have heard numerous times over the years that a Sea Tutrtles life is a very challenging and painful one. I have also learned that only a few out of many dozen hatchlings survive to adulthood. This article also mentioned that the Average Sea Turtle can swim for up to 18 hours before eating and taking a break. I was really interested in the experiment and study that the Marine Biologist performed to see how much force is put in a baby Sea Turtle to survive and how long it will last. My one and only question is, if he released the turtles back into the sea and if he did, then how did the turltes react to them being back into the real world outside the aquarium and if they survived. That was actually three questions....
