Studies suggest, children with working moms face more health problems.

The study, was funded by Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, looked at the health of school age children who have one or more younger siblings. When a mother works, the study found, that it leads to a 200% increase in a child's risk of having three different health problems, such as: overnight hospitalizations, asthma episodes, and injuries or poisonings. Earlier studies have shown that children have an overall better health out come when the mother works. These discoveries have been because of the mothers increased income, availability of health insurance and an increase in the mother's self confidence. Yet the head scientist, Dr. Melinda Morrill, of this study does not agree with the earlier studies, she believes if a child is very sick the mother who does not work can take care of her son or daughter.

I do not agree or disagree with this study. I think if a mother is a stay at home mom she can take good care of her kids if they are sick. Since she has no schedule of a place she 100 percent has to be at she does have more opportunities at taking care of her children, but I also think that mothers that work can take care of their children just as well. Every time her child is sick she cannot stay home with them but depending on her job and hours can get as much time off as possible. So overall, I believe that their is no better mom, a mother can have a career and still be just as good to her children as a mother that works in the home.
